Long- term, triple-drug therapy with rifampin, a tetracycline, and an aminoglycocide is recommended by some experts for patients with meningoencephalitis or endocarditis. Prophylaxis A three to six week course of prophylactic therapy with one of the oral regimes discussed above should be considered following a bioaerosol exposure. Isolation Standard Precautions are recommended.
