Recommendations for the treatment of patients with tularemia in contained and mass casualty settings and for post-exposure prophylaxis 2 are as follows: Table 1: Tularemia – Antibiotic Therapy for Contained Casualty Settings Contained Casualty Setting: assumes a limited number of persons seeking treatment. Start IV antibiotic therapy as soon as diagnosis is suspected.
