Providing a safe environment is the responsibility of ALL employees. Safety is monitored through Environment of Care Rounds:

• Semiannually in patient care areas.

• Yearly in non-patient care areas.

Keep Areas Clear and Safe

• Keep work areas free of obstruction and clutter.

• No WOWs gurneys, equipment or beds blocking hallways, fire alarms/extinguishers or exits.

• Doorstops (of any kind) should never be used to hold open doors.

• All oxygen tanks must be secured in tank holders to beds or gurneys at all times. Never move an oxygen tank without a holder.
