Safety Tips

• Watch for signs that may be associated with impending violence:

o Verbally expressed anger and frustration.

Threatening body language.

o

Signs of drug or alcohol use.

o

• Evaluate each situation for potential violence.

• Don’t isolate yourself with a potentially violent person, keep an open path for exiting.

• Be aware of potential weapons (needles, scissors, tools, etc.) and their accessibility.

Maintaining a safe environment keeps all of us safe, helps us to do our job, and keeps everyone happy!
