Life Safety Code Orange What to do in the case of a hazardous spill or you suspect there is a hazardous gas in theair: • Remain calm, do not panic, but act quickly. • Dial “5#” to notify the operator. • The operator will contact the Haz-Mat Officer, and will activate the spill team who will respond to the location. • They will clean up the spill or determine if it beyond their scope of training. • The operator will also page the Administrator on call and the Nursing Supervisor. • If needed, the Administrator or Nursing Supervisor will call county hazmat.
