The 2017 tragedy in Las Vegas, Nevada provided many lessons for emergency personnel. It highlighted key considerations and strategies that would help prepare us for future mass casualty incidents.

A mass casualty incident, or MCI, is any disaster that overwhelms the resources of local hospitals in a short period of time. Incidents like these can take the form of fires,
