Hazardous Communication Program The employees of Kern Medical will use the procedures identified in this Hazard Communication Program to access information on hazardous substances that they maybe required to use or come in contact with in their work environment. • List of hazardous chemicals used at the hospital and clinics. • Maintained electronically on Kern Medical’s shared network system • Hard copy available from EVS • Safety Data Sheets are available to all employees and contract labor • All hazardous chemicals will have labels identifying the substance and appropriate warnings • If the substance has to be transferred to another container, or if the original label is rendered illegible, that container will be labeled with a secondary label For more information please refer to policy ADM-EC-740 Chemical Product Hazards • Employees have a right to know any chemical, known to be present in the workplace, in which an employee may be exposed to under normal conditions of use or in a foreseeable emergency. • Kern Medical’s primary source for SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) information is: 1-800-451-8346. Provide them with the Product Name, Number, Manufacturer, and UPC code and a fax number where they can send the information. • The SDS library is maintained in the Engineering Dept.

Note : Drugs, as defined in the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, in solid, final form for direct administration to the patient (i.e., tablets, pills, capsules) are exempt from coverage under section (b)(6)(viii) of the HCS. MSDSs are required for all other hazardous drugs.
