Workplace violence There are pre cursors to major incidents • e.g. Workplace shootings • People that go to a jobsite and harm others have risk factors:

• Unusual fascination with guns or other weapons • Evidence of possible drug use or alcohol abuse • Previous threats/ threatening actions • Attendance problems • Most incidents involve visitors not co-workers • e.g. Mom & estranged Dad arguing over care/paperwork for child etc. • Security will escort you to your vehicle • Call in advance, emergencies take priority • Use buddy system • Be aware of your surroundings
