Postpartum Fall Prevention Post Epidural in Maternal Child

Review of the current literature indicated PP mothers should be evaluated with the Bromage Scale to determine readiness for progressive mobility and implementation of Up Safer/Sooner. Falls in the PP is areas were evaluated, bathroom being the most frequent area of fall, and post epidural or local anesthesia. Comparative analysis of 2017 falls due to anesthesia fell from 6 occurrences to 2 in 2018. Recommendations more education and training in the use of the Bromage Scale and Up Safer/Sooner techniques to Maternal Child and appropriate documentation, and to continue to audit.
