Emergency Procedures

Utility Systems

• Emergency procedures for utility system failures are located on the Kern Advance Intranet.

o Utility systems include the communications (phone) system, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, etc.

o Report utility system failures to Engineering @ ext. 27600 .

• Medical gas shut off valve locations can be found in the Utilities Management Plan.

o Know where gas shut-off valves are in your department.

o Know who has the authority to shut them off (Respiratory Department).

o Know what the dangers from leaking gases are.
