Safe Medical Devices Act of 1990

If a piece of Equipment is involved in an incident resulting in the death or injury of a patient, it must be reported!

• Report the occurrence to your supervisor.

• Take the equipment out of service and mark it as defective.

• Sequester the equipment until it is picked up by Bio-Med.

• Complete an Occurrence Report and reference the equipment “C” number.

Broken, Defective Equipment & Hazards in the Workplace

Whom do you call if there are broken, defective equipment and hazards?
