What to do in the case of a hazardous spill or you suspect there is a hazardous gas in the air • Remain Calm: Do not panic, but act quickly • Dial “5#” to notify the operator • The operator will contact the Haz-Mat Officer and will activate the spill team who will respond to the location • They will clean up the spill or determine if it beyond their scope of training • The operator will also page the Administrator on call and the Nursing Supervisor • If needed, the Administrator or Nursing Supervisor will call-in county hazmat
