Code of Conduct

All employees are required to follow the Code of Conduct and conduct themselves in an ethical manner. The Code of Conduct describes what is expected of all employees in terms of ethical conduct and what appropriate and inappropriate behaviors are. Key Elements: 1. Be aware of appropriate, inappropriate, and disruptive behaviors (see handout). Always do the right thing! 2. Follow Kern Medical Policies & Procedures as applicable to your job. 3. Treat all patients, co-workers, and visitors with respect. 4. Everyone at Kern Medical is an advocate for the rights of our patients. 5. Billing practices that are accurate, ethical, and straightforward shall be maintained. 6. Employees, vendors, and other associates will not be retaliated against for reporting unethical or illegal practices. If an employee suspects that any activity by a colleague violates laws, regulations, accreditation standards, standards of medical practice, or any aspect of the Code of Conduct, he/she has a duty to report it to: 1.
